My approach to photography is simple and pure. I use only natural light to create an image; and work hard to develop an artistic photo, whether it be for a client or as a self project. I do not care about staging shots, excessive make up, and set ups. I capture what is there, with love for that special moment.
With an advanced diploma in photography from Canada, I choose to follow my dream to work as a freelance photographer. With over 10 years in experience, I can capture your special moments, smiling faces, products or food in a simplistic, colourful and uncomplicated way.
I photograph with my heart and believe in sustainability, conscious consumption and responsibility. When you book a photography session, purchase an image, or participate in a workshop or retreat, you are supporting social organizations and projects. I run my small business on green electricity, all print material is climate-neutral and supports other charitable projects for people and the environment. This is a very important concept for me to follow. Every daily decision and choice we make, has the potential to create a cleaner and happier community and world.
If you are interested in purchasing fine art photographs or my cookbook, hoping to have images taken or just want to connect, I am happy to make a new friend. For questions, inquiries and commissions, please contact me through my contact page.

About two years ago, I started working part-time on the floor of Patagonia Europe’s Munich Retail Store selling clothes and other outdoor items as a sales associate. This may seem like an odd title. And maybe a bit like a farmers cry for water. But, thats not what I am trying to get at, although man I do love a good rain for the plants, trees, animals and waterways. This is my opinion on the importance of rainy days during the busy […]
Hello Readers, I haven’t written much in the last months, or half a year really. June 8th was World Ocean Day. Yes, there is almost a “Day” for everything these days, but this one is a very important to one. Muhammad Ali said ” Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams – they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do – they all contain truths. “ […]
A few weeks ago I cooked for 25 people for a whole weekend. 2 Dinners, 2 Brunches, 2 Desserts, salads, many dips and lots of snacks. Meal Prep, planning, shopping, the works. I am not a cook, far from it. I took one “Foods” class in High School when I was 16. That is the […]

As I sit here on the banks of the Isar River on a Friday afternoon in the first week of September, I reflect on my past 5 years here in Munich. I originally chose this city in order to build a relationship with my boyfriend. But as the years have passed, I have realized just […]
Hello Friends and Followers, I have just returned to Munich from a 3 week trip to my hometown in Ontario, Canada. I am tired, jet lagged, and yet somehow completely refreshed. Being in Ontario in August for me is like a dream. It is hot, humid, full of long drives and so much good homegrown […]

So I had been dreaming of going home for Christmas for years now and this year I finally made it happen. Missing 4 Christmas’ in a row is not fun for anyone. But what I wanted most was a White Christmas. Cold, snowy and well, not green. Sadly I received amazing gifts, and way too […]

When most people think of Oktoberfest, they think of beer. A LOT OF BEER. This festival has approximately 6.3 million visitors each year and they consume 6.5 Million litres of beer. Yes, these are insane stats and they contribute to this being the largest festival in the world. What I have learned while living in Munich […]
So I know I have not posted anything for a while and I apologize for that. Summer, very nice weather, and lots of work, means my picture editing and blog posting gets pushed back. But as it is only 5 degrees Celsius and rainy today in Munich I thought I would post some images from […]
The Lofoten! What a place. This is a group of islands and fjords that form a sort of peninsula in Northern Norway. It is really an amazing and variable landscape in the Lofoten. It is almost impossible to explain with only a few words and a some photos because being there is like no place […]
Dear Friends, I find that during our busy, hectic and digital lives we forget how much impact a printed photograph can have. We shoot, like, post, and share our images to friends, family and to the World Wide Web but we forget what the meaning of those physical paper images have on our lives. Do […]
Dear Friends I have heard so much about the “Chateau de Villé” for years now from my boyfriends family and have always wanted to visit. Such historic castles scatter the French countryside, some of them almost standing still in time, from when the soldiers abandoned them after WWII. I was so lucky to be able […]
I was not sure exactly why, but I knew this Winter I needed to make a visit home. I missed the deep Canadian cold I grew up hating, the meters of snow and of course my family and friends. And I am so happy that I booked that flight. It happened to be at the […]
You all know the song “My Favourite Things” Julie Andrews sings as Maria in ” The Sound of Music” ( If you don’t you are really missing out ). Well, I am of course in love with everything she sings about including brown paper packages and warm woollen mittens, but I thought I would make […]
I have been waiting patiently… Last year we had two small scuffs of snow in Munich, and the year before that was the same. But this year, January brought snow, and lots of it, and I am so very happy. Being Canadian, a cold Winter with snow so is natural to me. I remember mornings […]

I recently finished reading a novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh called the Language of Flowers. My best friend Karen recommended it, and she couldn’t have been more correct with my taste. It tells the story of Victoria Jones, an orphan girl going through foster and group homes as a child and teen. She discovers her love of […]
Those who know me well know how much I love Fall. It is always a busy time of year, but one full of colour and beautiful weather. Fog in the mornings, cool air in your lungs and frost on all the crunchy leaves. I gave my boyfriend a plane ride for his birthday this year, […]
Yes. You should be wondering what this means and says. It is the name of a very hip an upcoming French band based in Nantes. And pronounced ST-ru-V-el-Pe-Tra. For the non-German readers out there, the name is based on this traditional German storybook. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Struwwelpeter. I had the chance to see them play in their first concert in […]
Well things are no different here. Île de Ré. This place is still as amazing as ever. The sunny September weather was a Godsend. My mother, boyfriend and I enjoyed it day after day.Thank you Île, you bring me so much joy.
Strasbourg! What a splendid city. Strasbourg is located in France on the Western border of Germany and is the home to the European parliament. Think Brugge meets Amsterdam with a German twist but in France! With a population of 270 000 people, I found this city to be the perfect size. We walked everywhere on […]
This is where I come from, yes, and what a place it is. It is funny. When I am home, I am, for the most part, very unrelaxed. I am cleaning, sorting and driving around visiting many friends and my very large family. It is here in Munich, weeks after, that I see how lucky […]
Yes, I scream for ice cream. My favourite Summer time treat. And well, my favourite food of all really. Yes, that statement is very true. In Berlin, everything is possible. Every street offers new things. The unique people, outfits, crazy haircuts, many cultures, contrasting buildings, unending graffiti, and amazing food make this city like nothing I have ever seen. I could say it is the German Paris/New York/Toronto all rolled into one. Last weekend […]
A new year, a new routine ! Who knows what lies ahead? It is amazing the energy, creativity, and drive that hits me when a new year roles around. I do not know if it is the extra sleep, many many calories, or extra days of relaxation that I receive during the Christmas season. But, all […]

Creating silhouettes is one of my favourite types of photographs. Simple, elegant and dynamic! And what better place to do this then by the water at sunset. Some friends and I loaded up our things last Sunday evening for a swim and BBQ on the Starnberger Lake, just south of Munich. Getting out of the […]
