Autumn Beauty – Oct. 2021

The weather has made me cry multiple times in the past two weeks.

I’m not kidding. Pure tears of complete joy.

Everything is golden and red and yellow and frosty and fresh and mossy all around me.

I smell the leaves and watch them fall, all of my favourite colours are all around me all at once.

I feel confident and colourful and cozy in my jeans and leather boots and wool sweaters.

These are the days of the year that I live for. The weather is perfect, the produce is perfect, and oh so beautiful!

And what a true blessing that my work allows me to cook and photograph beautiful food and smiling faces in magnificent locations. Man am I lucky!

For two days last weekend, I was in Tirol Austria, in the tiny village of Steinberg, staying at the Mesnerhof Camp, In one of the most beautiful renovated old farms I have ever seen.

I have been here twice before, for exactly the same reason, exactly 2 years ago. And every time it is just as magical, or maybe more, as the one before.

I worked the weekend with Christina, my long time friend and yoga instructor, planning, prepping and cooking meals for 25 people over two days. Once in October and once in November. So even though I spent most of my time from dawn to dusk in the kitchen, I was able to sneak in a few moments of silence and photos at sunrise and sunset in order to capture this place, and all of you great people in the atmosphere to it’s fullest. Read more about the yoga retreats ( Sorry in German here )

I don’t have much to say because looking back at the photos just makes me speechless. Celebrating these fall days with all of you is something so special to me. Cooking for and being around you all continues to bring me so much joy. Man is community and “being together” and bringing people together “to gather” at the table so important. Man have we missed out this the last few years.

Thanks Chrissy for letting me participate once again, as well as to Annabelle for helping me oh so much in the kitchen. I couldn’t have done it without you.

My approach to photography is simple and pure. I use only natural light to create an image; and work hard to develop an artistic photo, whether it be for a client or as a self project. I do not care about staging shots, excessive make up, and set ups. I capture what is there, with love for that special moment. With an advanced diploma in photography from Canada, I choose to follow my dream to work as a freelance photographer. With over 10 years in experience, I can capture your special moments, smiling faces, products or food in a simplistic, colourful and uncomplicated way. I photograph with my heart and believe in sustainability, conscious consumption and responsibility. When you book a photography session, purchase an image, or participate in a workshop or retreat, you are supporting social organizations and projects. I run my small business on green electricity, all print material is climate-neutral and supports other charitable projects for people and the environment. This is a very important concept for me to follow. Every daily decision and choice we make, has the potential to create a cleaner and happier community and world. If you are interested in purchasing fine art photographs or my cookbook, hoping to have images taken or just want to connect, I am happy to make a new friend.
