On the first weekend in November, I had the privilege of working and attending the second Yoga & Mountain Get Away in Tirol.
Together with my dear friend Christina, and 25 other yogis, we came together in this beautiful location in the Austrian Alps for two and a half quiet days of yoga, food and reflection.
I find that during the fall months we get very busy. Or I do at least. Summer is gone, and it’s back to school, back to work, so many projects, deadlines, etc. etc. The Thanksgiving, and Holiday/Christmas rush finds its way into our lives so fast and things gets stressful. That it why I find it so important during this time to concentrate on our bodies and minds. And that is what weekends like these are all about. Down time, offline time, reading time, body movement time, sleeping time, eating time, social time, outdoor time. It amazing how long 48 Hours can feel when you spend it in a quiet place with great people.
Although I will say I didn’t quiet take care of myself enough this Autumn, I am happy for a break soon over the holidays. This season I will carry my yoga matt with me over the Atlantic Ocean to Canada to visit my family this Christmas. Taking many stretching and breathing sessions between all the visits and meals. I find it helpful, grounding and calming. I encourage you to remember during the upcoming weeks, as 2019 coomes to an end, that “Giving” can be done in so many ways. Giving to yourself, as well as to others, doesn’t need to be done in the form of physical items. But as well as in time, in quiet moments, in togetherness and in reflection. This is what I am planning to do.
A huge thank you to Christina for having me help out again at this retreat, to Karena for her hard work and dedication with me in the kitchen, and to all you wonderful guests that made it possible.
Happy holidays to one and all this season. Take Care Friends !
