Winter Wknd in Hungary – Feb. 2023

So in Early February, M and I finally found a weekend where we could travel to Hungary to visit our friend Timea. The talented yoga guide & furniture designer. We have been trying to see each other there since 2019! Covid, then new jobs, and conflicting schedules never allowed for it. But finally, we made it happen!

Even if only 6 hours away from Munich, this place felt like a different world. This is where East Europe starts, and west Europe ends. Modest homes, farms, small towns, many forests and lakes, a few large factories dot this landscape with 93 000 sq km and 9 million people ( almost 2 of which live in Budapest )

This was my first time here and I was so pleasantly surprised! By the friendly and helpful people, the quirky and elegant architecture as well as the fine and flavourful food! And the language, what an interesting language. It was only after 3 days that we began to understand a few words. The amount of people that spoke English or German so well however astounded me!

We stayed at a family’s home close to the city of Papa ( yes this is its real name ) And then took day trips to the Balaton Lake, Budapest City, and the many forests.

We had 2 amazing meals out. One tasty and trending lunch at KIOSK, as well as another flavourful lunch at Hebleany winery next to the lake. I ate like I couldn’t anymore. At 12 weeks pregnant, you either have an appetite, or you don’t. I am so thankful that at both of these moments I had a big one !

A huge thanks to Timea, Jeno, Kati & Almos for hosting us, welcoming us, and cooking us dinner with so much love. Enjoy the images !

My approach to photography is simple and pure. I use only natural light to create an image; and work hard to develop an artistic photo, whether it be for a client or as a self project. I do not care about staging shots, excessive make up, and set ups. I capture what is there, with love for that special moment. With an advanced diploma in photography from Canada, I choose to follow my dream to work as a freelance photographer. With over 10 years in experience, I can capture your special moments, smiling faces, products or food in a simplistic, colourful and uncomplicated way. I photograph with my heart and believe in sustainability, conscious consumption and responsibility. When you book a photography session, purchase an image, or participate in a workshop or retreat, you are supporting social organizations and projects. I run my small business on green electricity, all print material is climate-neutral and supports other charitable projects for people and the environment. This is a very important concept for me to follow. Every daily decision and choice we make, has the potential to create a cleaner and happier community and world. If you are interested in purchasing fine art photographs or my cookbook, hoping to have images taken or just want to connect, I am happy to make a new friend.
